Tussy by Jaki McCarrick
Award-winning playwright Jaki McCarrick uncovers the unknown story of Eleanor Marx, feminist and social activist fighting for equality in 1880's London. Through her work Eleanor, or Tussy as she is known to her friends, meets Will Thorne, an illiterate dock worker who with Eleanor's help goes on to lead one of the most important strikes in the history of trade unionism. Tussy is a feminist King's Speech about the legacy of the friendship between the unsung British icon Eleanor Marx and Will Thorne, the man who would go on to change workers' rights forever.
Tussy will be in development in 2018 for a 2019 production.
