Reboot Festival 2 - Call out for plays!

The Reboot Festival returns to Barons Court for three weeks this October to showcase some of the most exciting emerging writers from around the world.

We are now accepting submissions from writers!

Kibo Productions renews its commitment to supporting early-career and emerging talent by showcasing the work of new writers, performers, and directors alongside more established artists at Barons Court Theatre this autumn.

What we're looking for:

Short or one-act plays that will get us thinking and start conversations.

Plays with a maximum of six performers onstage.

Plays that are in English or can be easily subtitled.

Plays that can be performed with a minimal set.

Plays that haven’t been performed in the UK in the last year.

This year’s festival has no theme as we figure there's enough inspiration from being alive in 2022..

What we’re offering:

Each play selected will have five performances over one week during the festival.

We will provide casting and technical support and link you up with a director (unless you have one in mind already)

We will provide 10 hours rehearsal space for each show at the Barons Court Theatre.

Fee: The production will operate on a profit-share basis.

Performance Dates:

Week 1: 11 - 15 October

Week 2: 18 - 22 October

Week 3: 25 - 29 October

How to submit your play:

To submit your play, please send it to writers@kiboproductions.com. If you have any questions, please email info@kiboproductions.com.

Closing date: 24 September 2022 at 11:59 GMT

As we’re a small team, we ask that writers please send us one submission only. We encourage early submissions and will close the submission window if we’ve received enough plays to program before the deadline.

Kibo Productions aims to create work that reflects the world around us in all its complexity and actively seeks to develop work from artists of diverse backgrounds.

This call out is open to everyone irrespective of race, ethnicity, nationality, faith, disability, gender, sexual identity, neurodiversity, native language, class and/or economic disadvantage. Please let us know if you have accessibility requirements or would like any other support to apply for our call-out.

The Barons Court Theatre is situated below the Curtain's Up Pub. We deeply regret that it is not easily accessible to everyone. There is a flight of stairs down to the space, a step up to the door, a step down into the space, and a step up and down into the house's right seating bank.

We look forward to hearing from you and rebooting with you this autumn.
