Reboot Festival - Call out for Directors!
The world is open again but no one is the same. Who are we now, and how do we reconnect with our friends, our communities, even our creativity, after being static for so long?
Kibo Productions is now accepting expressions of interest from directors for our Reboot Festival: three weeks of plays for a world attempting to reboot. The festival will run 5 - 23 October 2021 at the Barons Court Theatre in London, UK.
What we're looking for:
Directors with a passion for new writing who are looking to get back into a rehearsal room.
Directors with decent availability for casting and rehearsals in September/early October.
All experience levels are welcome to apply, and we encourage early-career applicants to apply.
What we’re offering:
You will direct a short or one-act play that will have five performances over one week during the festival.
We will provide casting and technical support.
We will provide daytime rehearsal space for each show at the Barons Court Theatre. A space for evening rehearsals may be provided as needed.
Fee: The production will operate on a profit share basis. We will also be offering some free workshops and talks aimed at helping the writers, directors, and performers of the festival get back on their feet following the pandemic. These will focus on topics such as marketing yourself and refreshing your cv.
Week 1: 5 - 9 October
Week 2: 12 - 16 October
Week 3: 19 - 23 October
How to submit your submit your expression of interest:
If you have any questions, drop a line to firstname.lastname@example.org. To submit your expression of interest, please send your cv/portfolio to email@example.com and a brief introduction. Please also include your availability and any known conflicts for September/early October.
Closing date: 19 September 2021 at 11:59 GMT
Kibo Productions aims to create work that reflects the world around us in all its complexity and actively seeks to develop work from artists of diverse backgrounds. This call out is open to everyone irrespective of race, ethnicity, nationality, faith, disability, gender, sexual identity, neurodiversity, native language, class and/or economic disadvantage. Please let us know if you have accessibility requirements or would like any other support to apply for our call out.
The Barons Court Theatre is situated below the Curtain's Up Pub. We deeply regret that it is not easily accessible to everyone. There is a flight of stairs down to the space, a step up to the door, a step down into the space, and a step up and down into the house left seating bank.
We look forward to hearing from you and rebooting with you this autumn.
